In the heart of Brixton bangs the Dogstar - cool hangout by day, lively bar/club by night. On the site of a former pub, it's a huge, three-story affair, with a fruit machine, pool table and tiny outdoor area. Most of the action happens downstairs around battered wooden tables and on squashy sofas.
