London's poshest pub |
35 Walton Street South Kensington London, London SW3 2HU +44 20 7584 3148 |
Tucked away amidst the designer boutiques of Walton Street, this corner pub is convivial and stylish, and serves everything from morning coffee to substantial dinners. A large proportion of the clientele are wealthy Chelsea locals, and The Enterprise has gained a reputation for being the poshest pub in the area. There are only a few tables outside, but the high ceiling/small dining room combo inside make for easy breathing even when it's packed (which is almost always). Very bistro-like, the lighting is dim, the furniture dark and the service haphazard but friendly. The contemporary menu - ranging from bangers and mash and fajitas, to fish, steak and elaborate salads - is generally quite good. The menu changes regularly (if the halloumi salad is ever around, be sure to try it), but as this is a popular local, regulars probably welcome the eclectic choice. Review © 2009, Wcities |
