Jazz it up at this Mediterranean joint |
54 Frith Street Soho London, London W1D 4SL +44 20 7437 0666 |
Tables at this central Soho Mediterranean-influenced restau-bar are in popular demand, so make sure you reserve or get there early. Diminutively proportioned, EST is clean and minimalist in design, with overhead fans, large amounts of stainless steel fittings and a glass front, allowing the natural light to flood in and create a more spacious, airy feel. Warm fiery-coloured walls seem to compliment the southern sunshine inspired cooking. The food is simple but this is often the success behind Mediterranean cuisine and it employs authentically-sourced ingredients. The pizzas, salads, meat and seafood platters are all combined with plenty of fresh herbs, sun-dried tomatoes, goat's cheese and an abundance of olives, just as you'd experience on the French Riviera - without the sun, of course. The restaurant is also only a few doors away from Soho's legendary jazz venue Ronnie Scott's. Review © 2009, Wcities |
