Contemporary fare and a cute mixed crowd |
30 Old Compton Street Soho London, London W1D 4UR +44 20 7494 2756 http://www.g-a-y.co.uk/ |
This mega dance-bar restaurant is set over three floors in London's colourful Soho district. It draws a cute population of gay and mixed origin, for calm morning coffee through to packed late-night dancing with funky house DJs. Although the venue is spacious and modern, minimalist yet with the lavish lure of concealed lighting and leather sofas, the vibe has been described as lacking in warmth and atmosphere, and is guilty of overpricing. Food is contemporary, mostly modern British (Lamb and Mint Sausages) with a touch of Pacific Rim (Thai Steamed Fish) and Italian (gnocchi, risotto) - the usual trendy fusion menu that leaps between continents. An all-day breakfast/brunch menu is offered at weekends. Review © 2009, Wcities |
