Preppier than Tommy Hilfiger but narrower in scope than Polo Ralph Lauren, Gant has proven that the All American look is indeed timeless. The brainchild of a Chinese-American entrepreneur, Gant doesn't sell the 'American Dream' like Ralph Lauren does as much as it promotes the more conventional idea of happy, healthy and WASP-y looking young people having fun on boats, golf courses and beaches. The narrow store manages to cramp in a wide array of blazers, chinos, shirts, shorts and the like at predictable, mid-range prices.
