From the outside Green's Antique Galleries looks like another forbidding and intimidating antique showroom on Kensington Church Street. But go into this musty old shop and you will be surprised by the welcome of the assistant and her willingness to provide histories of the merchandise on offer. Green's has amazing one-off engagement rings encrusted with pearls, emeralds, rubies and garnets from the early Victorian era onwards. Excellent alternatives to contemporary buys, these rings require a lot of care but you might just find that they are beautiful enough to be worth it. A less inspiring collection of antique home accessories is also available.
