Thank heavens for the Heathrow Express! No more spending a fortune on cabs or lugging bags on the tube to get to Heathrow. The train ride takes 15 minutes and it's smooth and comfortable. BBC World plays on the TV screens so you can get a quick dose of news. If you prefer total silence (no mobile phones!), there are noise-free carriages. Depending on the airline you are flying with, you may be able to check in your luggage at Paddington station. Star Alliance member carriers such as United Airlines, Singapore Airlines and British Midlands have check-in desks here. It's worth investigating if you can do this. Review © 2009, Wcities |
