The elegant Georgian Hendon Hall Hotel is set in its own grounds in a quiet London suburb. The original building was known as Hendon Manor and dates from the 1500s. It has a turbulent history, and in the late 18th century was owned by David Garrick, the actor and manager of the Drury Lane Theatre. A memorial to him stands in the grounds.
