A snug, pleasingly informal wine bar overlooking the curved arcades of the 19th Century market with its cobbled paving. The market area bustles vibrantly during the day as butchers, fishmongers, fruit and vegetable sellers and other assorted tradesmen display their wares, but is dead from about 6pm as the City workers abandon their desks and head into the centre of town. As such, it's best to arrive after the lunchtime rush, when you can spend a pleasant afternoon drinking and watching market life in full colour.
