Although this looks rather small and unassuming from the bustling pavement on Piccadilly Circus, wander inside and you'll find five floors of sporting goods to make your eyes boggle. All manner of sporty kit from football shirts to Gortex jackets, tennis rackets, golf clubs, cricket bats, gym equipment, tents and swimwear - you name it, and they've probably got it. It's huge, so ask one of the friendly and well-trained staff for help and they'll send you in the right direction as the layout can be a little confusing. Established in 1863, this store has a long sporting history and it seems it's one they're keen to maintain. However, there are only eight other branches dotted around the country, but they now have a catalogue with a mail order service if you can't make it into the store. Review © 2009, Wcities |
