The owners of Mas Cafe, which used to occupy this site, have gone upmarket with Manor, a restaurant that combines Southern European accents and the 'anglo-antipodean' influences of Kiwi chef, Adam van Schravendyk. For a translation of what this means, try the Piri Piri chicken with broad beans, peas & tarragon or the grilled loin of pork with arrocina beans, fennel & red onion. The Mediterranean theme continues into the brunch menu, which features an Italian version of the great British fry-up. The wine list is also packed with Southern European wines. The deco is simple and modern with lots of muted browns and greys. The space is reassuring and comfortable. The service from the Tommy Hillfiger-clad waiting staff is exceptional.
