Japanese fervor! |
14-20 Lower Regent Street Dorland House London, London SW1Y 4PH +44 20 7930 0317 http://www.mitsukoshi-restaurant.co.uk/ |
Mitsukoshi has been part of the Soho culture for quite some time now, since it started in 1985. The decor is basic, unpretentious, and like the food served here, typically Japanese. The menu presents you with a wide choice, from Kaiseki course meals to Shabu-shabu and Sukiyaki. A separate sushi bar assures you a share of the most well-known Japanese delicacy. The health-conscious need not worry, as most of the ingredients used are low-calorie; you can go ahead and gorge on dishes, such as Ika-Shiokara (squid marinated in special sauce) and Tempura (deep-fried prawns and vegetables with Tempura sauce) without worrying about turning into a sumo wrestler look-alike! Among the desserts, the Green Tea Ice cream is a favorite. The restaurant also has a full bar, which features such unique drinks as plum wine and Kirin Ichiban (beer), apart from delicious cocktails and regular wines. Mitsukoshi is also a great place to stop by for a cup of afternoon tea. Review © 2009, Wcities |
