The name means "pearl palace" in Hindi, and the cuisine of Moti Mahal bespeaks of the royal feasts of old India. The first and only English sibling of this Indian chain brings the famed tandoor style of cooking to palates in Covent Garden. Tipplers can shed their inhibitions at the bar, with a range of reds, whites and other drinks. Then, it's time to partake of a sumptuous batter fried chicken with a fiery red onion salad on the side, or a cauliflower curry with cottage cheese dumplings if you prefer to go veg. The soft and filling naan—a flat bread—is usually used to mop up these delirious gravies. The a la carte and pre-theatre menus feature more meat, fish and veggie fare from this gastronomically sizzling country. Dig in!
