If you are a traditionalist when it comes to dining, here's where you give your staid palate a taste of the unknown. Nanglo means "Nepalese Kitchen", and this South London restaurant offers culture cuisine from the tiny Himalayan kingdom, as well as staples from the Indian sub-continent. A cheery blue facade yields to a sparkling clean, bi-level eating space where patrons gorge on oven-baked chicken, lamb and seafood meals, accompanied by 10 kinds of tandoori breads. Starters include the Vegetable Khaja in a spicy dip, which is big enough for two, while the King Prawn Aishwarya, with its colorful explanation on the menu, is a sellout each time. Various types of rice and vegetarian sides embellish each meal, and are served up by a friendly staff that also packs a takeaway meal with speedy efficiency. It's no wonder that the venue has garnered a clutch of faithful guests by mere word of mouth! Review © 2009, Wcities |
