Formerly known as The English House, this top-class restaurant upped its image on joining the Corrigan Restaurants group and moving in chef-patron Graham Garrett. Seasonally-inspired, hearty British dishes are injected with an ingenious twist to produce striking combinations such as Fried Filet of Mackerel with Warm Potato and Rhubarb Salad and Blood Orange Vinaigrette, followed by Roast Belly of Gloucester Old Spot, Scallops and Pancetta. The decor, however, remains resolutely traditional. Exploiting the old Victorian townhouse it calls home, it has an intimate downstairs dining room and entertains private supper parties by the fireplace in rooms for six, 10 and 12 over the three floors.
