The New London Theatre first opened in 1973, replacing the previous theatre, the New Middlesex Theatre. Since then, the popular venue has hosted many plays, musicals and other performances, including the Blue Man Group, the play The Unknown Soldier and His Wife, and was home for 21 years to the smash hit musical Cats. The theatre can hold approximately 1106 seats and also houses a restaurant.
