Built in 1415, The Old Red Lion is one of London's oldest and most historic taverns. Originally surrounded by fields, it was under the shade of the Lion's trees that Thomas Pain penned The Rights of Man, a radical attack on established establish religion. The theatre at the Old Red Lion was conceived and created in 1979 and quickly established a reputation as a pioneer of new talent. Today the theatre remains true to its roots, staging art-house and fringe productions.
