The Fulham branch of this popular American grill is filled with South Kensington types, whether they be yuppies or families. In summer, when the bar spills out onto the street, the place is often packed. Popular for weekend brunch/lunch and pre-dinner drinks, this is a comfortable American-style bistro with wood panelling. The brunch menu is very good, with generous portions of eggs, crab cakes and salads on offer. The forays into the eclectic - Thai-spiced red snapper, for example - are not successful, but overall, the food is still solid and flavourful. The main branch at Wellington Street, Covent Garden, WC2, (tel: +44 20 7240 7529) may serve the same food, but has a completely different ambience.
