First opened as the Price's in 1884, the theater was renamed the Prince of Wales in 1886, before the new theater designed by Robert Crome came into play in 1937. Nowadays, the Prince of Wales Theatre puts on a variety of plays and musicals geared towards tourists and the general musical-loving public, including shows like the now-departed "West Side Story" and "Fosse". The theater seats a maximum of 1,133 people, depending on the size of the production and its popularity. Two bars and a confectionery kiosk supply drinks and snacks. Unfortunately the theater does not currently provide access for disabled theatergoers, although there are facilities for the hard of hearing, and the venue benefits from air conditioning.
