Think Lebanon and one conjures up a mental picture of luscious figs, juicy pomegranates, sturdy woods and heady wines. One of the newer ventures of the Maroush chain, and named after the owner's daughter, this restaurant realizes that vision. Exotic aromas of spices greet patrons as they enter, making up for the urban interiors. A plethora of options decorate the menu card: choose from hot and cold mezes, sambousek, shwarma, fatayer, stews and falafel for a satisfying meal. At dessert, the baklava wins hands down, followed closely by the Mouhallabieh—milk pudding with rosewater syrup topped with pistachios. Yum! Review © 2009, Wcities |
