Soho style that transcends fashion |
56 Frith Street London, London W1D 3JN +44 20 7734 8300 |
Inspired by Guare's cult play, 'Six Degrees of Separation', this triple-decker bar-restaurant attracts a discriminative clientele (mainly media moguls and corporate cats) in search of the infamous mutual acquaintance. The location has seen the demise of many ventures, but what separates Six Degrees from the rest is a unique combination of inventiveness, atmosphere and intimacy, making the most of a prime Soho spot. The hip, second-floor Friendship Lounge is exclusive to members, custom-decorated to ironically mimic a private gentleman's club, while the street-level bar is dominated by an Evian-spouting water sculpture and floor-to-ceiling windows opening right onto Soho street life in summer. Head chef Troy Ried serves up exquisite Pacific Rim concept cooking, like Pine Nut and Nori Encrusted Salmon on Seaweed and Lemongrass with Lentil Rice Pilaff. Upmarket bites like Swordfish Club sandwiches are available any time of day. The main draw however, is the cocktails, exclusively concocted by legendary bar guru Dick Bradsell, the eponymous hero of Dick's Bar at super-restaurant Atlantic Bar and Grill.
