West Street London, London WC2H 8DP http://www.londontheatre.co.uk/ |
St Martin's Theatre first opened in 1916 but it has been showing the world's longest running play, Agatha Christie's 'Mousetrap', since it transferred here in 1974, and shall probably be showing it for all eternity... You can only conclude that a play that can continue to enrapture and enthral audiences for some 50 years, and still keep its secret, must be worth seeing. And fortunately, you should be able to turn up and buy tickets on most days except Saturdays. With a licensed bar on every floor, this decorous theatre seats 550 people, and there is wheelchair access and box seating available. Although the auditorium is air conditioned, there are unfortunately no facilities yet for the hard of hearing. Ticket prices: £11-£25 Monday-Thursday £13-28 Friday & Saturday. Running time: 2.25 hours. Review © 2009, Wcities |
