The name, 'The Cockpit' has nothing to do with military affairs and everything to do with the cockfighting that happened on sight a century and a half ago. The entertainment today is a bit more civilized than yesteryear's: instead of cock fights, patrons can watch football matches on big screen TVs. While it may have a gory past, The Cockpit is one of the City's most enjoyable pubs for a post-work pint or two.
