The doorway is the first clue you get of the thigh-slapping, stein-pounding, cowbell-ringing character of the Tiroler Hut. Descend into the restaurant and give yourself up to your hosts - Josef Friedman and his wife. You don't really have a choice about this - the smile that Josef beams out from above his accordion is impossibly infectious. Mixed with the music itself, it disarms the most uptight of patrons with ease. The charming red-and-white checked tablecloths and the traditionally dressed waitresses transport you directly to the Alps. All you need is good, honest food, drink and cheer.
