Trafalgar Tavern

Built in 1837, this is one of Greenwich's most popular hang-outs - both for boozing and a good feed. With its lofty rooms, elegant decor and sensational views of the Millennium Dome there is no finer spot to hang your feet out of the window and sip your pint of Courage beer. Mentioned by Dickens in Our Mutual Friend and once frequented by 19th century cabinet members for 'whitebait dinners', The Traf, as it is locally called, is still occasionally monopolised by bureaucrats, aristocrats and royal members who, for some unfathomable reason, feel unable to discuss matters of the state without consuming vast amounts of tiny, deep fried fish. Also renowned for its great wine selection and high quality jazz, The Trafalgar Tavern is an absolute must for any visit to Greenwich.
