Authentic cuisine in calming environment |
3 Piccadilly Place London, London W1J oDB +44 20 7287 6622 http://www.yoshino.net/restaurant/ |
This veritable oasis of calm is tucked away on a pedestrianized street just off Piccadilly. Well-lit and simply decorated in muted whites and creams, you can either dine at the bar downstairs or take a table in the peaceful dining room upstairs. Incredibly authentic, this restaurant steadfastly refuses to advertise and instead relies on its superb cuisine to spread the word, and it's invariably packed at peak hours. However, it's worth trying for a table towards the end of the lunchtime rush, as a delicious set lunches of miso soup, grilled fish, rice, garnishes and sashimi start from under £6, although you could just as easily spend four times as much on other, equally mouth watering options. As it's authentic, the menu is furiously fish-led and extremely filling, so make sure you're hungry and that your dining companions enjoy seafood. Review © 2009, Wcities |
