An interesting landmark and building |
333 South Hope St Los Angeles, CA 90071 |
In 1972 ARCO commissioned AC Martin Powers to design these twin towers—52 stories of serious gray. The building houses the ARCO headquarters as well as one of the Bank of America offices. Outside on the plaza is a red helical sculpture called Double Ascension by Herbert Bayer. Underground there are seven acres of shopping and eating establishments, a church, a fitness center and a post office. It is indeed a mini-city. Review © 2009, Wcities |
