Greenacres

Harold Lloyd's Beverly Hills estate
1740 Green Acres Place
Los Angeles, CA 90210
Just off Benedict Canyon Road is Green Acres, an estate once owned by silent film star Harold Lloyd. Today it has been reduced to five acres, but in its prime, the grounds covered 20, much of which was occupied by 12 differently-themed gardens. Lloyd lived here—in a 44-room house that has a whopping 26 bathrooms; until his death in 1971. It cost the modern-day equivalent of more than $25 million to build the home, which also included a 60-foot long entry hall and a massive drawing room which also functioned as a theater and a solarium. Naturally, the estate has become a sought-after site for filmmakers looking to portray Beverly Hills opulence. Unfortunately, no tours are given.
