Los Angeles |
Huntington Park was incorporated in 1906 as a streetcar suburb for workers in quickly growing industries to the southeast of downtown Los Angeles. To this day, about 30% of its residents still work in factories in the surrounding suburbs. Like much of Los Angeles, Huntington Park was historically a white suburb, but today it is dominated by Latino residents. Pacific Boulevard is a thriving commercial strip within the area, but it's helpful to have some knowledge of Spanish if visiting or moving into the area because virtually all of the signs are written in Spanish.
