When in the vicinity, take a detour past this relic of yesteryear, a pay-by-the-hour "hotel" most famous for its role as the flophouse in which Julia Roberts resides prior to being whisking off by Richard Gere to the Beverly Wilshire penthouse, in the film Pretty Woman. The place still functions as a hotel, but its considerable dearth of amenities would lead any sensible traveler to seek accomodations elsewhere. Las Palmas is located within walking (or cruising) distance of other Hollywood destinations such as Grauman's Chinese Theatre, the Kodak Theatre and the Hollywood & Highland Center.
