This is a world-class museum that is often overlooked by visitors to the Los Angeles area because it is all the way down in Long Beach. Visitors should not let the location deter them - it is a must-see for many reasons. Home to permanent collections of fine art covering the past 300 years of art history, the museum hosts exhibitions that rotate on a quarterly basis. There is an emphasis on Southern California artists, and one of its main focuses is multimedia, with a great video collection and frequent video/multimedia shows.
