Mural Conservancy of Los Angeles

Tour L.A.'s multi-ethnic murals
MCLA
PO Box 55011
Los Angeles, CA 91413
http://www.lamurals.org
Largely inspired by the Mexican mural movement of the early 20th century, Los Angeles contains some of the most fabulous murals in the world, created by a diverse multi-ethnic population. Crowned by the Great Wall of Los Angeles, there are more than 1,000 murals in the city today, and this organization seeks to conserve and acknowledge all of them. The conservancy conducts several bus tours each year, with different themesast-luding areas, eras and artists. Many of these tours are led by the muralists themselves, providing a great opportunity to meet the creative minds who help shape the city. The tours usually last all day and make a one-hour stop for lunch. Admission: $25 general admission, $20 members, students, low-income seniors and groups of five or more, cash only. Tours are given several times per year.
