Sister to Le Petit Bistro on La Cienega, this Westwood eatery is all Gallic charm. The cheerful red awning, art nouveau posters, dark paneling and bentwood chairs are vintage bistro, as is the menu of calf liver, steak frite and escargot. The food, while not haute cuisine, is hearty and the portions are large. Highly recommended are the lambchops and the breast of chicken with wild mushrooms and roasted garlic potatoes. Top off your meal with the Peche Melba, a particular delight of fresh poached peaches, raspberry sauce and rich vanilla ice cream, beautifully served in a crystal stemmed goblet.
