This is the famous and historic old Spanish mission of legend and reality, made famous by the swallows that return to it every year on March 19. It is located in San Juan Capistrano, a charming coastal town halfway between San Diego and Los Angeles. It is a beautiful way to spend a day, strolling the grounds with the tolling of bells and the songs of birds in the air. Today the mission serves as a museum of local history and an educational resource. Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors (60 and older), and $4 for children under 12.
