This section of Third Street contains shops, bars, bookstores, restaurants, movie theaters and a thriving street life. The upscale chains are gaining a toehold, but there are still many local boutiques and specialty stores. Street performers entertain constantly, adding to the atmosphere. On weekends, it tends to be very crowded, a victim of its own success. Credit cards accepted vary by store.
