Nouvelle and eclectic, this is an ideal spot for a fancy lunch or dinner if you're in the Pasadena area. Often frequented by locals and tourists alike, the place is widely regarded as one of the hottest Chinese spots in town. Here the owners feature an upscale version of a typical Chinese combination platter. All of the two dozen lunch entrees, most of which cost less than $12, come with a "nibble" (a small appetizer), a cup of soup and rice. The Peking Duck is superb and worth calling ahead for. The Prawns with Honey-mustard Sauce or Pickled Cabbage with Blackened Chilies are favorites. The wine list here is wonderful and suits the food perfectly.
