Eclectic quartier cafe |
9 Rue Neuve Lyon 69001 France +33 4 7830 9504 |
Situated on a road next to numerous restaurants, this café distinguishes itself at first with its typical façade. Authentic pari-mutuel of the quartier, Harmonie offers its drinks at very attractive prices to a clientele of regulars. Inside space is limited, but the atmosphere under filtered lights is relaxing. The owner, who has a great sense of humour, animates the room so well with his character that days seem to go quicker when you visit. There is often music live, theater and exhibitions. Cultural cafe with debates |
9 Rue du Garet Lyon 69001 France +33 4 78 28 6665 |
Café 203 is open all day and is particularly popular among young people, either at coffee or aperitif time. You cannot miss it because there is a superb Peugeot 203 parked right in front of it that also serves as a terrace. This trendy and relaxed café also hosts weekly art exhibitions, which is why it is known as a cultural café. For those who like to share their point of view and profit from the opinions of others, this bar hits the spot. Review © 2007, Wcities |

A casion right in the centre of Lyon |
70 Quai Charles de Gaulle (Cité internationale) Lyon 69006 France +33 4 7817 5353 http://www.partouche.fr |
Le Pharaon is grandiose and follows a theme, which as its name suggests, largely takes its inspiration from Ancient Egypt, from the décor to the costumes worn by the solely female staff! The fruit machines will undoubtedly attract more than one pilgrim in this pyramid of luxury and money. Ideally located in the international city next to the hôtel Hilton and the Palais des Congrés, Le Pharaon's clientele includes business men and women, tourists as well as a few Lyonnais. Fun on a barge |
20 Quai Victor Augagneur Lyon 69003 France +33 4 7261 9292 http://www.marquise.net/ |
This is a barge which, at different times, serves as a café-theatre, and turns its English pub into an intimate and warm venue for intelligent, spicy humour. The programme is varied and embraces all kinds of comedy, which is quite rare in Lyon. It is generally popular with higher income people ages 30 to 40. Live DJs rumble weekly with disco, jazz, jungle and salsa tunes and the upper terrace is open for star gazing. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Good music, young clientele and good cocktails |
1 Rue d'Algérie Lyon 69001 France +33 4 7828 3387 |
Le Voxx is a hip bar situated in the heart of Lyon. It is open all day long and has a dynamic and fun ambience once the night sets in. The music is intense; people talk and drink but that's all you need for a great evening. The clientele is relatively young and the cocktails on offer suit the place. The prices are reasonable and the décor is very nice. It is divided into several small rooms, allowing space and intimacy for those who want it. Review © 2007, Wcities |
