You'll pass a Monaguillo (Altar boy) asking for charity at the entrance and an authentic confessional inside. In summer, you can sit outside on the charming terrace by the lovely fountain at a candle-lit table.

+34 91 429 6685 Try this huge modern café in one of the city's oldest and most elegant districts for the great range of coffees, teas and ice-creams. You can buy your newspaper here and read it in peace or simply watch the world go by through the large plate-glass windows. The interior is appropriately decorated with objects related to coffee as well as regular temporary art exhibitions. For more established art collections, you're within walking distance of two of the world's best: the Prado and Thyssen museums.
