Choose from some traditional flavours
Calle Del Arcipreste de Hita 6
Madrid, Madrid 28015
Spain
+34 91 543 9446
A small take-away ice-cream parlour that offers a wide variety of flavours to choose from. Its Góndola is the star of the menu, made up of three scoops of your choice with whipped cream, nuts and peaches on top. Other popular favourites are tiramisu and Ferrero Rocher flavours. Three generations of ice-cream makers have kept this - one of Madrid's oldest - parlours alive, helped by a faithful local student population.

Farggi

Variety is the spice of life
Centro Comercial Las Rosas
Madrid, Madrid 28006
Spain
+34 91 775 8016
http://www.farggi.com
A chain of ice-cream parlours that offers a flavour to suit everyone. The ice-creams are thicker and creamier than anywhere else. Just to give you an idea of the original range, there's vanilla with tangerine, peach yoghurt and New York brownie. However, the best-sellers remain the same: Coffee, Rum & Raisin and Leche Merengada (something akin to sweetened condensed milk ice-cream). You can sit inside the attractively decorated parlour, with its beige marble walls and dark wooden tables and chairs, or sit outside on the terrace in summer. In addition to ice-cream, you can order coffee, hot chocolate or cold refreshing iced-drinks and Horchata (tiger-nut juice).

Heladeria Sienna

The best in Argentine & Italian flavours
Calle de Narváez, 62
Madrid, Madrid 28009
Spain
+34 91 573 7655
Among the 40 different flavours on offer, you'll find some truly original and exciting varieties, like dulce de leche (a thick sweet caramel) and white chocolate with walnuts. However, the most unusual is flavour is samboyán, egg-yolk mixed with altar wine (as they call it). It's suitable for kids because the wine is heated and the alcohol evaporates. Don't be afraid to mix the flavours. You can tell that the original owner was Italian and that he spent time in Argentina just by looking at the menu. There's not much space, but you can sit inside this simply decorated parlour or take away.
