An ideal venue for a romantic night out, this spacious and elegantly decorated Indian restaurant serves a great selection of spicy starters, as well as deliciously sweet almond and syrup desserts. Try one of their tandoori dishes cooked in the characteristic clay oven; it is the house specialty. The best accompaniment is rice prepared in many interesting ways. It is one of only a few of its kind in Spain, as Indian cuisine has not taken off here yet.

+34 91 542 8451 An authentic Indian restaurant offering a daily changing sampler menu that's ideal if you really want to explore this fascinating and exotic cuisine. The house specialities are tandoori chicken and naan breads. The menu also features many vegetarian dishes, meat and vegetable samosas, lamb and chapatis. Wines are mostly from Navarra, and India's Lassi Beer is available. You can enjoy live music on weekend nights. As for the decor, it's all soft yellow-coloured walls, multi-coloured tapestries and photos of India.

+34 91 457 2729 The interior decor is elegant and exotic and the waiters are happy to explain and describe all the unusual dishes on offer. There's a wide variety to choose from, including speciality tandoori and biryani dishes as well as Curried Spinach with cheese, Chicken Tikka and Chicken Kulfi. As for drinks, you can try a refreshing Lassi (yoghurt mixed with rose water and crushed ice), although Spaniards generally stick with the house Rioja (Glorioso) or any of the other good Rioja wines on the list, like Marqués de Murrieta and Marqués de Riscal. You'll feel like you're in a museum, surrounded by all these Hindu artefacts, bronze sculptures, paintings of the Taj Mahal and photos of maharajas. There's live music and dance every night except Sundays.

+34 91 308 2766 An authentic little family-run Indian restaurant that serves exotic dishes like curried chicken, lamb, prawn or veal with rice along with other delicacies from the sub-continent. The vegetable fritters and the naan bread are best accompanied by their homedade aubergine and onion puree. It's most famous for its chicken tandoori straight from the clay oven, but remember to leave some room for a delicious yoghurt and Lasi mango dessert.
