Beef Place

Argentine grill in a business district
Avenida del Brasil 30
Madrid, Madrid 28020
Spain
+34 91 556 4187
An informal modern restaurant in Madrid's northern financial district that offers rapid service and specialises in Grilled Argentine Beef. The menu also features a varied selection of salads to balance all that protein. For dessert, try Panqueques De Dulce De Leche (pancakes covered in thick sweet caramel). The wine list has good reds from Rioja, Somontano, Costa del Segre, Ribera del Duero, and Argentina. The house wine is a local variety (Jesús Díaz) from Colmenar de Oreja, in the province of Madrid.

Carreta

Tastes of Argentina & Uruguay
Calle de Barbieri 10
Madrid, Madrid 28004
Spain
+34 91 532 7042
Renowned specialists in grilled red meats from Argentina and Uruguay, this kitchen also prepares a range of its own fresh pastas. The restaurant stays open until very late, haunted by hungry bohemians and night owls. There's live Latin American music on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights and shows for the kids during Sunday lunch. The waiters dress up like typical Argentinian gauchos (cowboys) to serve in the colonial style dining room.

Rodizio

Brazilian grill and music
Pez Volador, 2
(Dr.Eqsuerdo)
Madrid, Madrid 28007
Spain

It's a huge, bare dining room where you choose your starters from a hot and cold salad bar and order main courses from a limited selection of barbecued meats that arrive at your table on skewers. In addition to the salads you can choose starters like croquettes, pan-fried mushrooms, fried plantain, Brazilian green beans or curried mussels. The wine list has a bit of everything. At the back, there's a stage with a band playing cool Brazilian Bossa Nova music for the middle-aged business people and couples who come here.

Vaca Argentina

Specialising in Argentine grilled beef
Calle de Bailén 20
Madrid, Madrid 28005
Spain

Part of a chain that specialises in serving traditional cuts of grilled Argentine beef. Order a portion of provoletta (grilled provolone cheese topped with olive oil and herbs) and a salad to go with your meat, and for dessert, try panqueque de dulce de leche (pancakes topped with sweet, thick caramel). The pampas ranch-style decor of imitation adobe, wood, cowhides, swing doors and antique furniture is very attractive.

Vaca Verónica

Fresh pasta & tasty meat
Moratín, 38
Madrid, Madrid 28014
Spain
+34 91 429 7827
You're sure to enjoy your meals in this charming little restaurant in the Huertas district. The pleasant environment includes bright summer-yellow walls accented by attractive paintings, candle-lit tables, and cheerfully coloured table cloths. As for the menu, specials from the kitchen feature salads (the diced cabbage with cheese and walnuts is great!), fresh pasta (the carbonara sauce deserves a mention), meat (a good option is filet verónica, steak with potatoes), or fresh fish (bream, hake, and salmon are the most popular. The wine list offers a few select choices.
