Fresh, natural produce |
Zorrilla, 11 Madrid, Madrid 28014 Spain +34 91 369 4709 http://www.alnatural.biz/ |
Although it's not the most sophisticated of Madrid's few vegetarian restaurants, it certainly is one of the best. The quality and freshness of the ingredients used in the kitchen are outstanding. The subtle lighting and the carefully positioned plants create a warm and cosy atmosphere in the dining room. House specials are Mushroom Stroganoff and Aubergine Gratin. No smoking. A banquet of roasted vegetables |
Ventura de la Vega, 4 Madrid, Madrid 28014 Spain +34 91 429 5092 |
This vegetarian restaurant has been in business forever and it remains a popular dining choice because of its central location and low prices. The menu offers few surprises, but delivers good staple dishes like pizza, organic gazpacho, vegetable curry and a selection of salads. The house speciality is oven-roasted vegetables. Try the aubergines and spinach in particular. To drink, you can choose from a range of fresh natural fruit juices and wines from Ribera, Rioja, Valdepeñas and Penedés. Its simple interior decor is nothing more than white walls and a few plants placed here and there. It's a non-smoking restaurant and there's another branch on Calle Tres Cruces,4 (+34 91 521 8721). Live music on weekends |
Calle del Duque de Osuna 6 Madrid, Madrid 28015 Spain +34 91 542 8451 |
An authentic Indian restaurant offering a daily changing sampler menu that's ideal if you really want to explore this fascinating and exotic cuisine. The house specialities are tandoori chicken and naan breads. The menu also features many vegetarian dishes, meat and vegetable samosas, lamb and chapatis. Wines are mostly from Navarra, and India's Lassi Beer is available. You can enjoy live music on weekend nights. As for the decor, it's all soft yellow-coloured walls, multi-coloured tapestries and photos of India. Review © 2007, Wcities |
