Her stuff is very well-known and popular on the Madrid fashion scene. You can also find shoes, bags, costume jewellery, hats and ties. Prices are high, but worth it given the quality. She's friends with lots of famous people, who come here to shop.

It is part of the oldest American restaurant chain in Madrid, founded by two Spaniards who returned from a visit to the States with the idea of combining their passions for American food and movies. The first restaurant was an immediate success, a dynamic, fun venue with excellent quality fare. The standards have slowly dropped over the years, but it is still a popular place. Mercado de la Cebada

In a busy square
Plaza de la Cebada, 15
Madrid, Madrid 28005
Spain
You'll find a fine display of fresh fruit and vegetables, fish and quality meats and lots more in this authentic Spanish market, whose origins date back to 1877. It's located in one of the city's best-known squares that has recently become a popular nightlife zone. Traders first gathered here in the open air during the 19th century, but the current two-storey building wasn't put up until 1962. Its design won the National Architecture Prize for that year. There's free customer parking if you show a shopping receipt and four cafes to relax in.

There's a car-park for customers (first hour free), and you can even do your shopping from their web site.

They cross the city in different directions, with the exception of line 6, the grey line, which is circular. The metro has stops at the main train stations (Atocha, Chamartín, Principe Pío) as well. The line that reaches the airport – line 8, the pink line, is now open and leaves from Mar de Cristal station. Tickets cost EUR 0.81 for a single journey and EUR 4 for a ticket of 10 journeys. These rates are applicable to buses as well. These tickets can be bought in estancos (tobacconists), at kiosks or at EMT booths throughout the city. They can also be bought in the stations. Open 24 hours, they charge the official rates: minimum charge, plus supplements for the airport, pets and suitcases. Rates are higher at night because the meter goes faster. All taxi drivers post this information in their cabs.

Native food

Madrid 28009
Spain

This small establishment is an authentic shop for traditional, typical food and agricultural produce of Madrid—a majority of them being from the place of origin. The shelves display vegetables to preserves, cheeses of Campo Real, beans from Montejo de la Sierra, frothy wines from Colmenar de Oreja and oil from Villarejo de Salvanés. The place takes care of the demands of the public according to the time of the year. Thus, when Christmas arrives, expect to find chulapones—a typical sweet, marzipan from Morata de Tajuña or Polvorones (cookies) of Cadalso de los Vidrios. Additionally, the decoration consists of yellow walls, white and red motives and a pretty tiled placard.

Why shouldn't kids have their own second-hand store? This place is exceptional in that respect. Clothes, bottles, high chairs, cribs, etc, for babies and children up to 6 years old. Everything is in good condition and quite affordable. If you want to sell clothes and toys, you get cash on the spot. With other items, you sign a contract with a fixed price and, once the stuff is sold, you get 60% of the price. It's best to call ahead before lugging over a huge piece of furniture.
