Deliciously French |

Even though you may not be able to pronounce anything on the menu at this charming country restaurant, the richly tantalizing, mouth-watering dishes are sure to please. Signature dishes include Poisson des Iles au Buerre-Blanc which is fresh island fish poached in a rich cream sauce and Carre D'Agneau Facon Paniolo Chutney De Fruits Exotic, a grilled rack of lamb with a Hawaiian-style barbecue marinade. Be alert the first time you drive here. The restaurant is just off a busy highway, and if you aren't paying attention, you may speed right past it. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Japanese hotel |
555 Kaukahi Street Wailea Maui and Molokai, HI 96753 United States +1 808 874 0500 / +1 800 800 0720 (toll free) http://www.diamondresort.com/ |
This hotel caters to the thousands of well-to-do Japanese travelers who visit Maui every year. It is tucked amongst the hills above Wailea Alanui, well away from the touristy part of the resort district. The resort caters to travelers who desire peace, quiet and privacy. It offers a very different atmosphere than is found at many of the larger "fantasy resorts" in Wailea and Ka'anapali. Even the property layout (several low- rise units set among rolling green hills) is conducive to tranquility. The spacious guest units are luxuriously furnished and fully equipped with modern amenities. Shuttle service and golf discounts are available to all guests. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Visit the natural wonders |
End of Haleakala Highway Maui and Molokai, HI 96768 United States +1 808 572 4400 http://www.nps.gov/hale/ |
There are a never-ending variety of natural wonders in this enormous park, including the eerie floor of the crater and the magical Kipahulu Valley, much of which is closed to tourists. A seven-day pass is USD5 or USD10 per vehicle. Explore Haleakala with an experienced guide or stick with the established trails. Weather conditions can change drastically at the summit. Bring food, water and proper clothing for every member of the group if you plan on hiking. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Hana Coast Gallery |
5031 Hana Highway (At the Hana-Maui Hotel) Hana, HI 96713 United States +1 800 637 0188 http://www.hanacoast.com/ |
Art critics call this the best cultural art gallery in the islands. It features furniture made out of extinct wood that has been helicoptered out of Haleakala Crater and paintings by artists who have not exhibited in any gallery for 25 years or more. Visitors will also find feather art composed of 10,000 feathers that were gathered from captive birds as they molted, then hand-washed, dyed and strung one by one on a framework. Necessities & accessories priced sky-high |
5165 Hana Hwy Maui and Molokai, HI 96713 United States +1 808 248 8231 |
Truthfully, this store is nothing special. But that fact does not in the least diminish its status as one of Hana's top tourist stops. Of course, the fact that it is one of only two places within 20 miles that sells little necessities such as potato chips, camera film and Kleenex definitely adds to the allure. The store is also quite the meeting spot for Hana residents. It is easy to spot them: look for the ones hanging out in the aisles for 20-minute stretches, chit-chatting about kids, work and the state of the surf on nearby beaches. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Epic, dangerous beauty |
on the Hana Highway (just past Paia Town) Maui and Molokai, HI 96768 United States http://www.co.maui.hi.us/depar... |
The first sight of Ho'okipa is likely to make a visitor pull the car over and stare. From the vantage point of the highway or the parking lot, one can appreciate the spectacle: a seemingly endless expanse of deep blue water, white rock and crashing waves. This beach has been called the windsurfing capital of the world and is popular with daredevil surfers as well. However, it is not recommended that you swim here. The surf is as perilous as it is beautiful, and sharp coral reefs lurk below the waves. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Roadside Park |
Hana Highway Maui and Molokai, HI 96708 United States |
There are pullouts all along the "Road to Hana," but many of them are little more than muddy shoulders along the narrow road, packed with a few cars. If you want to take in the natural beauty of the rainforest but don't want to risk a car crash, find this park, located roughly two miles from the Halfway to Hana roadside store. It has outhouses, picnic tables, walking trails and a lookout point. The outstanding view and the backdrop of dense foliage make for great photo ops. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Behind the Mana Kai |
2960 South Kihei Road (at the Mana Kai Maui) Maui and Molokai, HI 96753 United States +1 808 879 2778 (Mana Kai Information Line) |
Located behind the Mana Kai Maui Hotel on the border of Wailea and Kihei, this beach is small but still fairly popular. It offers spectacular sunning and great facilities. Beach parking is available. The half-grass, half-sand beach is less than a minute's distance from the parking lot. As far as swimming goes, this is a good place to get refreshed, but not particularly good for water sports. There's a great deal of lava rock just below the surface, and although the waves tend to be small, getting knocked against the rock is still a danger. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Small but popular beach |
end of Kaluakoi Road (in front of Kaluakoi Hotel) Maui and Molokai, HI 96770 United States |
It's difficult to distinguish this beach from the other half-dozen or so that surround it; there are no real borders. To clarify: Kepuhi is directly in front of the Kaluakoi Hotel, about 30 minutes' walking distance south of Kawakiu Beach and three miles north of famous Papohaku. While Kepuhi isn't great for swimming, due to the lack of sand and presence of large rocks, it's very convenient to guests of the hotel and nearby condominiums. It usually has quite a few sunbathers, not to mention a contingent of local surfers. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Turtles, Dolphins and You |
Kihei Boat Ramp (Mailing: P. O. Box 1864) Maui and Molokai, HI 96753 United States +1 808 879 2201 http://www.molokinisnorkeling.com |
Combine a snorkel cruise with a trip to Molokini and a detour at nearby Turtle Town (home of the sea turtles), and you have got an irresistible excursion. This company only takes small groups. It is operated by a Coast Guard Captain with almost 20 years of experience; he and his crew take pride in their ecological awareness. The Seafire is new to South Maui, and is highly recommended by tour guides if you are staying in Kihei or Wailea. Call for prices and to make reservations. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Father Damien church |
Highway 450 East Kamalo Maui and Molokai, HI 96748 United States +1 808 553 3876 (Molokai Visitor's Association) |
This is part of Father Damien's legacy. It was built by the holy man in 1876, and is still perfectly maintained today. A statue of Father Damien is in front. For anyone interested in major cultural or historical points of interest, this is a must-see. While many guides and other publications state that this church is in Kaluapapa, it is actually on Molokai's South Shore at Kamalo Wharf. St. Philomena's, another famous church built by Father Damien, is in Kaluapapa. Review © 2007, Wcities |
