Located in the central city of Kihei, Elleair is a convenient, affordable alternative to the high-end resort courses. This course features narrow, rolling fairways and scenic ocean views woth no homes or hotels on the course. The greens are well-groomed, and the course is usually more enjoyable to play during the mornings when the wind is not blowing as hard, although many holes were designed with the wind in mind. Usually in good shape, the course offers a challenging and diverse layout that will provide a memorable experience on the links. Watch the whales jump out of the ocean offshore, while you play, from December to March. Review © 2007, Wcities |

The Right Way to the Fairway! |
2500 Honoapiilani Highway Maui and Molokai, HI 96793 United States 808 242 4653 http://www.teebone.com/coursep... |
Formerly King Kamehameha Golf Club, Kahili reopened in the fall of '05 with 18 holes and brand new greens. Kahili Golf Course is conveniently located at Waikapu, just 10 minutes from Kahului Airport and 30 mintues from the Wailea and Ka'anapali Resort Hotels. Experience a day of golf at one of Maui's best golf courses. The 6469 yard, Par 72 was constructed in 1991 and designed by Robin Nelson and Rodney Wright. Carved out of the foothills of the scenic West Maui Mountains, the design of Kahili Golf Course takes advantage of the local terrain and Hawaiian Tradewinds to create a unique golf experience. The Par 3s on the front side lay up and downhill to small greens. On the backside, a small dry creek bed and a lake come into play; accuracy is a must. The Par 4s are designed to make the golfer work to get to the greens in regulation. There are many elevation changes combined with doglegs in both directions, making long drives an essential part of the game. The Par 5s are designed to give the long ball hitter a chance for a birdie or possibly an eagle. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Golf Amongst Beauty |
100 Maunaloa Highway Maui and Molokai, HI 96770 United States +1 808 552 0255 http://www.molokairanch.com/go... |
T-off on 160 acres of Bermuda grass, moving from the rigged ocean shore to rolling green hills. This 18-hole, Par 72 golf course has a renowned 3,184 yard third hole, stunning views of the Pacific ocean and far off Oahu Island. It offers a challenging golf experience, but if you adjust your stroke to the wind, and the occasional steep incline, you will be at the top of your game. Don't move too fast though as Deer, Wild Turkey, Partridge and Pheasant make this resort area their home. Review © 2007, Wcities |

The Right Way to the Fairway! |
5415 Makena Alanui Maui and Molokai, HI 96753 United States ( 808 ) 879 3344 http://www.teebone.com/coursep... |
If you enjoy the peaceful escape the Makena Golf Course provides, then you'll love the addition of the new North Course, another 18-holes of championship golf designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. Opened in 1993, the North Course goes out of its way to make golfers feel at one with their natural surroundings. There are no distractions on this course-unless you considered the unobstructed views of the blue pacific, neighboring islands, and humpback whales breaching during whale season to be a bit distracting. In fact, to make it feel more like a nature walk and less like a golf course, even cart paths on the North Course are tucked away and hidden from view. You will have some obstacles to overcome, however. And as an added bonus to save golfers some time looking for lost balls, Robert Trent Jones, Jr. designed most fairway so that everything slopes back towards the center Review © 2007, Wcities |

5415 Makena Alanui Maui and Molokai, HI 96753 United States ( 808 ) 879 3344 http://www.teebone.com/coursep... |
Sharing the same spirit that embodies the Makena Resort, the South Course also provides the serenity and tranquility many golfers are looking for. It's not to say that the course doesn't provide quite a measure for golfers of every level. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., the South Course is a 6,739-yard, par 72 course with natural rolling fairways, undulating greens, and capitivating ocean and mountain views. The course boasts one of Hawaii's top driving holes, the par-5 number ten. According to members of the PGA Aloha Section, number ten was selected as one of the top par 5's in Hawaii. The proximity to the ocean is exactly why this course is so special. Besides having two oceanfront holes, numbers fifteen and sixteen, the South Course also affords an excellent view of humpback whales that visit here each winter. And since they keep coming back year after year, they must be on to something good! Review © 2007, Wcities |

Upcountry golf |
360 Pukalani St Maui and Molokai, HI 96768 United States +1 808 572 1314 http://www.pukalanigolf.com |
Located in lovely upcountry Maui, this golf course jokingly refers to itself as "Maui's coolest golf course." This is not so much a reference to its hip-ness as to the significantly lower temperatures found upcountry. The course is lovely, with verdant hills and panoramic views of Mount Haleakala. The signature hole is the third, which gives players a choice of driving over a 130-yard gully or a 60-foot cliff. The course has a driving range and a very popular restaurant. If you are willing to wait until the last minute to plan your golf outing, this company can help you save a bundle of money. The company offers discounts of 30-50 percent on same-day or next-day tee times. It is a similar concept to standby flight, with one key difference: You are guaranteed a tee time. Most of the island's courses participate in this program, so if you do not have a set-in-stone preference about where you play, you are likely to be satisfied with the course. Lowest rates on Maui |

If you are looking for a low-cost, no-frills course, this is the best option on Maui. It is located in a residential part of Maui, on a windy strip of isolated beach. The greens are landscaped with ironwood trees and kiawe forests. Half of the course was constructed in the 20s, while architecture on the second half was completed nearly 40 years later. It is staffed by a team of dedicated locals and PGA professionals. The daily greens fees range from $26-30. Call for reservations. Review © 2007, Wcities |
