Today Ballam Park is smack bang in the middle of a Frankston housing estate, but when it was built in the 1840s, the homestead and grounds would have been quite isolated and needed to be self-sufficient. It even had its own blacksmith. The French style house and outbuildings are worth a visit if you are there on a Sunday. Keep an eye out for the famous ghosts. In Ballam Park itself you will find two wonderful adventure playgrounds (designed for different age groups), sports grounds and a picnic area with electric barbecues.
