Along the banks of the Yarra River in the north-eastern suburbs are many great parks with bike tracks, barbecues and picnic areas. If you are looking for a healthy day out in the wide open spaces without going too far from Melbourne, this is the place to head for. Birrarung Park also boasts a small lake which is a magnet for local bird life.
