Right in the heart of queer territory you will find Hares and Hyenas, a bookshop which celebrates and explores gay, lesbian and transgender culture. Books cover life issues such as coming out experiences, parenting gay children, and gender re-assignation, through biography, fiction and humour. Literature and erotica by queer writers also feature strongly. The bookshop hosts exhibitions, readings and in-store appearances. Customers can pick up a copy of Screaming Hyena--a book review magazine, which covers lesbian, bisexual, transgender, gay, feminist, homosexual, queer, bent and sometimes even straight contemporary literature.
