Popular fishing spot |
Beach Road Mordialloc Melbourne, VIC 3195 |
Mordialloc Pier is where many of Melbourne's anglers have learned the ins and outs of the sport and it can still get quite crowded with youngsters trying their luck. Another common sight is the more experienced, older anglers using long poles from the hours before dawn to catch mullet, barracouta and trevally near the entrance to the Mordialloc Creek. Further along the pier, flat-head and garfish are caught regularly, while after dark it is worth trying for snook under the lights. The preferred baits are peeled prawns, sand worms and pipis.
