More café than restaurant, Nelayan puts the "no" in no-frills. Speedy lunchtime service makes it a mad, manic eatery. Being close to Swinburne University means Nelayan is popular amongst money-strapped students. The decor is basically non-existent, but the lunchtime special is what people come for; an ever-changing array of daily treats, including tripe soup, sambal eggs, fried fish cake, and spiced ox tongue.
